Corbin Burrows, Counseling Intern

Therapist (Intern)

I believe meaningful change begins with the conditions we create together in therapy. Therapy can be a space to slow down and become familiar with the patterns of thought and behavior that are keeping you stuck. I strive to create a relationship where you feel comfortable being honest, asking difficult questions, and exploring parts of yourself that may be hard to talk about. The space we create is strong enough to hold whatever comes up in that exploration. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, OCD, perfectionism, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. My experience working with individuals and families has taught me to approach struggles with curiosity and compassion. I believe understanding where our behaviors come from can be an important part of creating meaningful change. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to each person. Together, we can explore what matters most to you, understand the experiences that have shaped you, and consider how your choices align with the life and values you want to pursue. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this process, creating a space where you feel understood, accepted, and supported. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Utah Valley University. Before becoming a counselor, I worked with individuals and families in residential treatment. Outside of counseling, I enjoy good food and better company, movies, books, music, and both indoor and outdoor recreation. I don't believe you need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My hope is that we can create a space where you feel understood, supported, and able to move toward a life that feels more meaningful and more like your own.
